 |
1. Inspect product for damage and specifications.
2. Verify rough opening for size, level, plumb & squareness.
3. Install vapour barrier to back of product frame.
4. Apply bead of PVC compatible sealant to back of Brickmould or around perimeter of rough opening.
5. Place 12mm (1/2") shims at base of all vertical frame members. (also at locations where bowed)
6. Place 12mm (1/2") shims at quarter points of glass on all picture windows. (see item #5)
7. Place product into rough opening, center, level, straighten frame members and secure top corners.
8. If applicable, operate sash to ensure equal spacing between perimeter of sash and frame.
9. If fin weatherstrip is folded back into frame, insert flat screwdriver into gap and straighten.
10. Shim and fasten frame to ensure requirements of #5, #8 & #9.
11.Fasten Brickmould/fin with round head screws at 300 mm (12") on center, staying 200mm (8") back from welded corners.
Predrill screw holes slightly larger than screw shaft.Do not over tighten screws, allowing for thermal expansion/contraction of substructure.
12. Loosely fill around frame with fiberglass insulation.
13. Seal frame vapour barrier to wall vapour barrier and finish as required.
14. Install exterior drip flashing.
15. Allow 3mm (1/8") expansion/contraction space between product frame and exterior finish material.
16. Caulk exterior with PVC compatible sealant.
